March 2012 will be a unique month for the horticultural sector as two major trade exhibition and conference fairs are set to be held with less than a week between them.
The two fairs International Flower Trade Expo (IFTEX) and Hortec which will be seeking to offer almost similar exhibitions have left suppliers in the industry grappling with which fair will favour them most in terms of exposing them to their customers.
Both fairs will be in quest of bringing together suppliers of technology, farm equipment, inputs and services, traders and service providers from across the East African region plus International Buyers from the world over.
This appears to have brought a lot of conflict between the organizers of the two events with a seemingly developing bad blood between the two.
IFTEX set to take place from 21 to 23 March 2012 Oshwal Centre in Nairobi will be organizing the exhibition for the first time in Kenya and it is not clear why they chose this particular timing.
On the other hand Hortec which has been holding a bi-annual event since 1994 will be holding its 13th edition of the show from 14th to 16th March 2012 at the KICC in Nairobi.
