Expo Flor Ecuador Has Come to an End

The third edition of Expo Flor Ecuador has come to an end. Over the past days more than 2,000 buyers, growers, breeders, and traders have visited the trade show in Quito’s Metropolitan Convention Center.

Building connections
This year, it’s the first time that the Expo Flor Ecuador

organization allowed traders to have a booth, tells Martin Altamirano from FSQ. . “It has been a very good experience and welcomed interesting and potential customers. Here, we can easily connect with others because all suppliers and farms are in one place.”

Similarly, Anat Moshes with Danziger highlights that the fair helps to connect growers and buyers. “Here in Quito, buyers can easily walk around and meet the farms that grow their varieties. For growers, it’s an important opportunity to show new introductions,” she says.

Despite challeging year, positive vibes
Overall we hear that it has been a challenging year with little rain but overall the vibes have been very positive. On the show floor, it is visible that the rose industry is the biggest in the country, but there are many crops suitable for Ecuador’s growing conditions and increasingly more growers are exploring and trialing new varieties.

Party time
On the third and final day of Expo Flor Ecuador, visitors and exhibitors celebrated the end of the trade fair. Of course, this day couldn’t end without watching soccer as Ecuador was playing against Paraguay. The match ended in 0-0, but there was still enough reason to party on during the final evening party.
