
DHL Global Forwarding, the freight division of DHL Group, has appointed Amanda Rasmussen as its Chief Commercial Officer, effective May 15, 2025. Amanda will report directly to Tim Scharwath, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Freight. She takes over from Thomas George, who has moved into a Group role as executive vice president, focusing on driving the company’s 2030 corporate strategy.
Tim Scharwath welcomed Amanda’s appointment, saying, “Amanda’s deep expertise in logistics and her proven ability to deliver commercial growth make her a perfect fit as we strengthen our market presence. In an environment of shifting trade patterns and increasing tariff complexity, her leadership will be vital to helping our customers overcome challenges while showcasing the value we bring.” He also expressed gratitude to Thomas George for his valuable contributions over the years.
Amanda brings nearly 30 years of logistics experience, including more than 15 years in commercial roles spanning the U.S., Asia, and Europe. Since joining DHL Global Forwarding’s International Supply Chain business in 2010, she has held key positions, expanding from managing South Asia-Pacific operations to overseeing the entire Asia Pacific region. Her career also includes leadership roles at Indo Trans Logistics and Expeditors International. Most recently, Amanda returned to DHL in 2024 as Senior Vice President of Order Management Solutions.
She emphasized the company’s strengths, stating, “Our blend of digital tools, expert teams, and a broad range of services—such as customs brokerage—positions DHL Global Forwarding as a one-stop solution for logistics. I look forward to working with our commercial team to demonstrate the real impact we can have for customers, especially in today’s complex and fast-changing market.”
