The 25th edition of the Trade Fair Aalsmeer kicked off on Tuesday, November 4, and is set to end today, November 6, 2025, at the Royal FloraHolland market in Aalsmeer, Netherlands. This iconic event, hosted by Royal FloraHolland, has grown remarkably since its inception in 2000, evolving from the modest Aalsmeer Market into one of the premier international floriculture trade fairs.

The celebration began with a unique artistic performance by singer Alma, whose floral costume and soaring rendition of the song “Flowers” enchanted attendees and set an inspiring tone for the festivities. Her performance took place on a spectacular platform lifted seven meters above the crowd, symbolizing the fair’s rise and influence in the global floral industry.

Royal FloraHolland‘s CEO David van Mechelen reflected on the journey of the fair, highlighting its expansion in scale and stature. The venue’s exhibition space has increased from 8,000 m² at the fair’s start to a sprawling 29,000 m² in 2025, accommodating more than 600 exhibitors and attracting over 20,000 visitors from around 20 countries annually, including growers, exporters, wholesalers, and buyers.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, Deputy Mayor Sven Spaargaren acknowledged Royal FloraHolland‘s role in uniting the floriculture community worldwide. In a gesture of appreciation, he presented CEO van Mechelen with a ceremonial gift. The event culminated in a toast marked by the pouring of champagne over a champagne tower, with guests joining in celebrating 25 years of success and looking forward to future achievements in the floriculture sector.

This landmark edition of Trade Fair Aalsmeer not only paid homage to its rich history but also reinforced its position as a cornerstone event that fosters growth, inspiration, and collaboration within the global floriculture industry.

The fair offered a unique platform where the entire flower sector can connect, conduct business, and explore innovations under one roof. With a broad range of flowers, plants, and value-added products on display. The event also highlighted the latest trends in packaging, labels, and sustainable concepts that help brands distinguish themselves in the global market.

Exhibitors used the opportunity to increase visibility, showcase product innovations and strengthen partnerships. The timing, ahead of the new season, was ideal for buyers and sellers to orient and plan business, making the event a critical moment for international collaboration.

This edition also reflected industry changes, such as the shift toward biological pest control, the rise of internet and direct sales, and logistical efficiencies enhanced by technology including AI. The fair emphasized sustaining the spirit of connection and business deals that have been maintained over the past 25 years.
