Royal FloraHolland Reshapes Trade Fair Calendar

October 30, 2025

Royal FloraHolland, a major player in the global floriculture industry, has announced significant changes to its trade fair calendar to better serve the evolving needs of growers, buyers, and other partners in the flower supply chain. After extensive research and dialogue with exhibitors and visitors, the organization has streamlined its approach to focus on two major trade fairs per year; one in spring and one in autumn, both held at the Royal FloraHolland venue in Aalsmeer, Netherlands.

This decision comes in response to the declining popularity of traditional fairs such as the Winter Fair, Spring Fair, and Autumn Fair. At the same time, there is a growing demand among industry participants for events with clear positioning, strong innovation presentations, and relevant, high-quality visitors. Growers prefer showcasing their products at times that align with their market offerings, while buyers are becoming more selective about which fairs to attend.

In addition to these two flagship events, Royal FloraHolland will complement them with smaller, targeted initiatives tailored to current industry needs and trends. This new trade fair strategy highlights the importance of quality and relevance over quantity, aiming to foster collective growth both nationally and internationally.

Royal FloraHolland will continue to actively participate in leading international flower industry trade fairs, including IPM Essen, IFTEX, HortiFlora, and Flora Expo Kazakhstan. For each event, they carefully assess how best to collaborate with their members and customers to maximize visibility and seize international market opportunities.

The updated 2026 trade fair schedule is as follows:

  • Flora Spring Expo: March 18-19, 2026
  • Trade Fair Aalsmeer: November 3-5, 2026

These changes are a strategic shift designed to align Royal FloraHolland’s trade fair offerings with the dynamic demands of the floriculture market, focusing on innovative displays, meaningful industry connections, and growing global reach.
