PRISM: An Innovative Algorithm-Based Technology

FPC has been working with the University of Lancaster on a new development for the horticultural sector.

PRISM represents an innovative algorithm-based technology designed to accurately forecast the breakdown rates of commercial pesticides, tailored to conform to any legal or grower-defined Maximum Residue Level (MRL).

This technology provides significant support and protection to growers worldwide by mitigating the risks associated with MRL failures through an intuitive app-based service.

Furthermore, PRISM extends its capabilities beyond mere one-time predictions regarding the duration required for crops to achieve the specified MRL.

Upon notification of pesticide application to a crop, PRISM’s advanced algorithms begin constructing a precise, hyper-local, and continuously updated model of environmental conditions at the specified location.

This functionality allows PRISM to adapt to dynamic conditions and recalibrate the MRL status of the crop on a minute-by-minute basis. The application will subsequently notify users of any crucial changes in the timeframe needed to comply with the designated MRL.

The overarching goal of PRISM is to significantly diminish the business risks associated with MRL compliance for growers, enhance supply chain efficiency, and reduce food waste.

Our team is committed to delivering PRISM to the global agricultural industry in 2027.
