PATS Secures €2.7 million to Accelerate the Roll-out of its Tech-Driven Pest Management Solutions

Funding will fast-track development, support smarter pest decisions for growers, and expand reach across crops and regions, pushing insecticides out of the greenhouse.

PATS Team
PATS, the Dutch agri-tech company pioneering automated pest monitoring and control, has raised €2.7 million in seed funding to accelerate the development and rollout of its AI-powered solutions. The company already works with hundreds of growers cultivating vegetables, flowers, and plants around the globe. Solutions that help reduce pest pressure, lower the use of crop protection products, and support growers in meeting rising sustainability standards. The company’s mission? Replacing insecticides with tech.

The funding round includes backing from Division Q, Percival Participations, Delft Enterprises, and several tech and horticulture investors. “This funding is a major step toward realizing our vision of biology and technology working hand in hand,” says Bram Tijmons, CEO and co-founder of PATS. “By turning real-time pest data into targeted advice, we support biological strategies and help growers act earlier, smarter, and more sustainably. And, for pests that remain hard to control within the ecosystem of a greenhouse, our nature-inspired solutions – think bat-like drones – will play an increasingly important role in integrated pest control, especially for persistent pest challenges.” PATS is targeting a fast-growing market for smart pest management solutions, projected to exceed €2 billion by 2030.

PATS’ flagship solutions include PATS-C, which tracks flying pests in real time, and Trap-Eye™, developed in collaboration with Biobest, to monitor insect activity on sticky traps. Together with PATS-Vinder and PATS-Kalendar – which predict pest outbreaks and support intervention planning – these form a complete pest management suite for growers worldwide. Designed to complement natural pest control methods, the solutions reduce reliance on manual scouting and chemical sprays. Already in use across more than 25 countries, PATS’ portfolio provides growers with early warnings and smarter, more sustainable pest management.

The software and hardware portfolio is fully developed and produced in-house in the Netherlands. In its facilities in Delft the company is able to deliver in excess of 1.000 sensor systems monthly. The new funding will be used to:

  • accelerate the development of its smart pest management solutions
  • make pest control simpler, faster, and more reliable for growers
  • expand its solutions offering and international footprint in key market segments

PATS helps growers with the rising challenges in crop protection, from labour shortages to stricter regulations and increasing pest pressure. By offering automated, real-time monitoring and control, PATS makes it easier to adopt sustainable practices and reduce reliance on chemicals. Its solutions help growers stay one step ahead, with smarter, faster decisions that protect both crops and ecosystems.

 About PATS
PATS was founded by drone, vision, and AI specialists as a spin-out from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The company designs and delivers smart pest control solutions locally, aiming to replace pesticides by enabling precise monitoring and intervention that supports biological control strategies. PATS helps growers worldwide protect their crops more sustainably and efficiently.
