HortiFlora Goes Annual After Successful 2025 Edition

After a well-attended and lively 2025 showcase, HortiFlora is set to shift from a biennial to an annual event. The decision was announced by Dick van Raamsdonk of HPP Worldwide, following the latest edition held in Addis Ababa from April 1 to 3.

“Given the increasing international interest and significance of the event, HortiFlora will now have a transition from a biennial trade show to an annual one,” van Raamsdonk said. The next show is scheduled for March 18 to 20, 2026.

Backed by the Ethiopian Horticulture Producers Exporters Association (EHPEA), the event has steadily grown in size and reputation over the past two decades. This year’s edition saw record participation, with 140 exhibitors showcasing their products in creatively designed booths that drew steady visitor traffic, including many from the Middle East.

While flowers remained central to the showcase, this year’s edition also featured fruit and vegetable producers for the first time. “The inclusion of fruit and vegetable growers alongside the traditional flower exhibitors significantly expanded the event’s scope,” van Raamsdonk noted.

The move to an annual cycle reflects Ethiopia’s expanding role as a producer of fresh flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Organizers believe a yearly platform will create more regular touchpoints for industry players, boost export activity, and help drive job creation across the value chain.
