In a significant move within the floral industry, Halifax-based online retailer Prestige Flowers has merged with Mansfield-based Flowerline, a leading flower procurement, packing, and distribution business.
The merger, which will enhance both companies’ operations, has been supported by a substantial capital injection from alternative finance provider ThinCats, with advisory services provided by Park Place.
Founded in 2013, Prestige Flowers has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, fresh flowers and gift hampers nationwide, distributing over one million bouquets annually. The new partnership with Flowerline strengthens the company’s ability to offer next-day delivery, while also bolstering its supply chain for sourcing, packing, and distributing flowers with speed and care.
Ben Kimball, Senior Director at ThinCats, commented: “Prestige and Flowerline have a fantastic reputation for quality and sustainability, and it has been a pleasure supporting their growth. We’re excited to see the businesses thrive as they continue to build on their impressive track record.”
Prestige Flowers CEO, Simon Crowther, emphasized that the merger is a natural progression for the company: “Our commitment to providing exceptional quality and service remains unchanged, and this merger will allow us to operate even more efficiently, offering greater value to our customers. With the expertise of ThinCats and Park Place, we are well-positioned for continued success.”
Julian Ridgard, CEO of Flowerline, added: “This merger is a milestone in our long-standing partnership with Prestige Flowers. We’ve shared years of growth and mutual success, and this new chapter allows us to better serve our customers with an enhanced offering.”
Park Place partner Ben Peacock noted the compelling nature of the deal: “Both businesses have proven track records of success, and the merger will further enhance the quality of products and services they offer to their customers.”
Legal advice for the deal was provided by Squire Patton Boggs, including corporate partners David Milne and Paul Mann, corporate director Rebecca Holden, and banking partner Tom Telford. Jon Robinson of Parisi Tax provided tax guidance, and Clarion supported ThinCats with legal advice.
With the merger now complete, Prestige Flowers and Flowerline are poised to continue their growth, enhancing their position as a leading player in the online floral and gifting market, while maintaining their strong commitment to sustainability and customer satisfaction.
