The Floridata Foundation announced a strategic addition to its leadership today, naming Jeroen Oudheusden as a board member responsible for Sustainability Expertise, effective January 1, 2026. Oudheusden brings a wealth of experience in sustainability, supply chain transparency, and data-driven collaboration to the Dutch ornamental horticulture sector.
Oudheusden’s professional journey began after earning degrees in Marketing and Business Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He spent the early part of his career at Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer and later Royal FloraHolland, where he held multiple commercial roles in trade development and e-business. His international stint in Japan with the auction organization added a global perspective to his portfolio.

In 2013, he played a pivotal role in launching the Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) and continues to serve as its Executive Officer. Alongside FSI co-founder Bert Buis, Oudheusden helped shape the Sustainability Sourcing Scan (SSS) and contributed to the establishment of a certificates registry hosted by Floricode. Through Floridata, he now aims to deepen data-driven collaboration across the ornamental horticulture supply chain, using validated data to drive continuous improvement, enhance transparency, and foster trust among stakeholders.

The Floridata board, which includes Eric van Tol and Monique Nijholt, welcomes Oudheusden’s appointment. Both fellow directors have longstanding involvement with Floridata and operate independently of the ornamental horticulture sector, ensuring sound governance and impartial decision-making. The board’s governance framework emphasizes transparency and independence, with mechanisms to manage potential conflicts of interest.

To preserve the independent stance of its board members, Floridata’s governance now explicitly requires that the new appointee refrain from entering into contracts directly related to FSI. This rule is designed to prevent conflicts of interest while enabling robust collaboration across initiatives that advance sustainability and data integrity.
