Dümmen Orange recently presented a special award to the Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA) in recognition of its unwavering support and commitment to excellence in the horticulture industry. The award, which included a trophy and a certificate of recognition, was given during the annual Workers’ Day celebration.
The certificate praised EHPEA’s dedication, noting that its efforts have driven innovation and contributed significantly to the growth and success of the business community.
The Workers’ Day event, held in the presence of Aba Gedas, company management, workers, and representatives from various institutions and partners, was a colorful and celebratory affair. During the event, Yordanos Jemal, General Manager of the farm, expressed her gratitude to the workers and management team, crediting them for the farm’s impressive achievements despite numerous challenges. She highlighted the strong collaboration within the organization as a key factor in overcoming obstacles and achieving success.
Benjamin Geopferich, Regional Director of Dümmen Orange for Africa, echoed these sentiments, attributing the farm’s success to the dedication and teamwork of its employees.
He also commended Yordanos Jemal’s leadership, which he described as prudent and instrumental in guiding the farm through its journey of success.
In addition to honoring EHPEA, Dümmen Orange also recognized individual workers for their outstanding performance, further highlighting the importance of teamwork and commitment at the farm.
Dümmen Orange, a pioneer in Ethiopia’s horticultural industry, employs over 2,000 workers. The company is also highly proactive in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), having supported local communities for over 20 years by building schools, kindergartens, roads, and local administrative offices, as well as sponsoring orphans. The farm specializes in producing and exporting Pelargonium and Poinsettia cuttings to markets in Europe, the USA, and other international destinations.
