Corteva Agriscience, through its Corteva Catalyst investment platform, has secured exclusive global rights to the Phenix software developed by Progeny Drone, a precision crop management platform.
Phenix combines drone-based rapid aerial mapping with high-resolution image analytics to measure crop responses to environmental conditions and management practices. In a recent announcement, Corteva said that Phenix will become the core digital tool for its global crop protection field research scientists. The software includes capabilities for in-field plot mapping and image-based quantification.
According to Corteva, Phenix will help cut down data processing time in the field and enable more accurate evaluation of new product trials aimed at improving crop health, weed control and yield. It will also support the ongoing growth of the Corteva Biologicals business.
The company plans to roll out the software initially to crop protection field scientist drone pilots worldwide, with future integration into its agronomic and commercial trial research operations.
