The Armenian Ministry of Economy has dismissed allegations that local flower exporters are bringing in flowers from other nations for the purpose of re-exporting them to Russia.
Recently, Russia has imposed restrictions on flower imports from Armenia. These limitations set by the Russian Federation have led to
dissatisfaction among flower exporters, prompting them to hold protests urging the government to address the issue.
There are rumors suggesting that the restrictions on flower exports to Russia stem partly from the fact that the flowers are not cultivated in Armenia, but rather imported and then re-exported by exporters from other countries.
In reply to an inquiry from Armenpress, the Economy Ministry stated that the amount of flower imports from abroad is minimal when compared to the volume of exports from Armenia to Russia, and that primarily only seedlings are brought in.
