
Ethiopian Airlines has officially introduced a new cargo flight service, connecting Addis Ababa with Urumqi, China, operating twice a week. The inaugural flight received a warm welcome, marked by a vibrant ceremony and a traditional water cannon salute at Urumqi Diwopu International Airport. This new service will operate every Monday and Thursday.
This route significantly bolsters Ethiopian Airlines’ presence in Western China and enhances the essential cargo corridor linking Africa and Asia. It is designed to facilitate faster and more efficient transportation, providing increased market access for both exporters and importers.
In response to this launch, Ethiopian Airlines’ Group CEO Mesfin Tasew noted, “Launching our cargo service to Urumqi signifies a crucial advancement in solidifying our presence in China and enhancing trade relations between Asia and Africa.
