Viking Roses prides itself on breeding distinctive roses in Denmark, with trial facilities in Kenya, Ethiopia, Germany, Ecuador, and Colombia. Among the standout varieties featured at the open day were spray roses like Majestic Sunrise, a peach spray, Paula’s Champagne Delight, a champagne-hued spray, and Rosa Loves Me Radiant Rebecca, a vibrant pink spray that is already garnering attention in global markets.
“Our goal is to offer growers unique types of roses with larger head sizes and exceptional vase life. The market is shifting towards specialty varieties, and we are excited to be part of that transformation,” Abuti explained.
The open day also highlighted Viking Roses’ signature collection, Rosa’s Amazing, which includes stunning standards like Touch of Pink, Touch of Salmon, and Touch of Yellow. These varieties are bred to deliver premium quality with each bloom.

As breeders, Viking Roses emphasizes collaboration with growers to ensure success. “We don’t dictate where a farm should sell our varieties. Instead, we advise growers based on their market focus; be it auctions, direct sales, or specific regions like Russia or the EU,” Abuti said. “Altitude, climate, and market demand all play a role in selecting the right variety.”
For new growers, Viking Roses recommends starting with varieties that match their market goals and environmental conditions. “It’s all about understanding the grower’s needs and providing varieties that thrive in their unique settings,” she added.
